Hi and welcome to cardsarus blog spot My name is Jenny Lawrence and I live in Kent. My dear and wonderful husband Tony passed away in March 2019 We had been married for 36 years. I also lost my first Husband to the big C when I was quite young. I have 3 children and 3 stepchildren. 12 Grandchildren and 5 Great Granddaughters and 3 Great Grandsons. I have been card making for about 25 years. I have made things all my life as my Mum and Grand Mother taught me lots of hobbies. I have made my own clothes, knitted garments, hand embroidered items of clothing, and crocheted items too. I love to bake my own cakes as well.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY CARD

Hi and welcome to all my very talented friends, and visitors.
Thank you so much for your visit, and time.
As today is Remembrance Sunday I always post a card to commemorate our brave Men and Women who fought and lost their lives so that we may try and live in peace.
So this is the card I made this year.
I thought I would go with a Poppy Wreath this year.

This is a 8"x8" size card.
I made the poppies with a freebie stamp, and die of Sheena's that came with the Crafters Companion magazine.
I stamped them with Fired Brick DI, and then coloured them in with the same ink and a water brush.
I cut out the leaves on my ScanNcut,
with some snippets card, and then inked them with Pine Needles DI.
So I will be popping over to the playground with this.
The poppy paper is from the Creative Crafting World CD A walk in the Countryside.

Thank you again for your visit, and the wonderful comments you make.
Lots of crafty love.  JENNY.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges.

  7. Hi Jenny, I love that you always post a Remembrance Sunday Poppy card, and this one is fabulous, love the poppies you have created and the beautiful 'wording'.
I have just come home from our Church Remembrance Sunday Service, it is always so emotional for me, as I was in the Womens' Royal Army Corps for 3 years in my youth.
    Enjoy your day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  10. Oh wow Jenny, what a beautiful card - and just perfect for today of course. And you fussy cut the poppies? Really perfect as ever my girl!

Parsnip is here watching me type lying down with a foot in the air (me, not Parsnip!!). Ahem, I muddled up the pills and seem to have badly underdone yesterday's dose (took one instead of six), so in reality maybe I should have been doing the Highland Fling by now!!??

Anyhow, will be back on track tomorrow, daren't over do the dosage just in case it makes me grow antlers or summick equally unwelcome!

My beloved is currently cooking sausage, mash, onion gravy and cabbage for dinner - bless him. Not sunday roast this week. I had to explain how to cut up a sweetheart cabbage as well as how to tackle a little Knorr gravy pot for ease. Ever flet it would be much easier to just just hop around and do it? I tried and got chased back into the lounge :)

    Hugs

    Di xx

  12. Beautiful card, Jenny. A lovely tribute for Remberance Sunday. The poppies are very realistic looking and I am so impressed that you cut them, and the leaves, out - must have taken you ages. The background paper is fab and I like how you decorated the inside too. Elizabeth xx
