Hi, and a big welcome to all my craft loving, and talented friends.
Also a big welcome to any visitors just looking in.
The weather is so cold at the moment so I do hope you are all keeping warm.
It did warm up slightly with some sun yesterday morning, but that disappeared by lunchtime.
Last week I bought John Lockwood's Sandwich Box Die, and yesterday evening was the first time I could play with it.
Not entirely happy with the result as I made a few mistakes, but you learn by your mistakes.
This is a 6"x6" size card.
For the box I had the idea of putting masking tape behind silver mirri card and embossing it with the lattice part of the die, and then fitting it into the back of the cut out lattice part.
That was quite fiddly and not that happy with the result.
I also made a mistake with the hinge of the box a lesson learnt for next time.
I wouldn't use mirri card again either as it picks up lots of dusty bits which I didn't notice till I took the photos.
Forgot to say the mirri card used for the inlay of the box was Snippets so I will join my playground friends with this.

Fabulous box and card Jenny, such intricate detail on the box lid must have taken ages, lots of texture and depth, beautiful card too hugs Megxx
Still looks stunning Jenny, xxx
Holy cow Jenny, this is downright gorgeous!! I can't see any of those mistakes you made, but everything looks so perfect! I love the colours, the silver goes so well with the lovely tone of blue. This must have been so much work, all that detailing in the die cut, wow! I love the addition of the gemstone strips and the dainty leaf flourishes. This is truly a magnificent set, well done!! hugs :)
I can't see any mistakes Jenny! I'm too dazzled by this splendid creation! It looks fabulous.

Hi Jenny, Gorgeous !! Like others, I can't see any mistakes either, but I bet it was quite fiddly to make, but the outcome is gorgeous !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Jenny this is just stunning. I love that die! I can't see any mistakes either it's perfect hun. Love the effect of mirri card under the due cut. Just beautiful and gift box to match is just fab xx
Awesome is the first word that comes to mind. Sparkle is the 2nd one. I didn't see any dust (and I went back to look after reading!) This is just so intricate, and the mirror inlay really gleams and shines with the lovely softness of the aqua color. So many jewels, and love the leaf flourishes in both colors, along with the always beautiful flowers you make. I was admiring how well you've mitered at the corners in photo 1 too. This is definitely a labor of love, and that is a fabulous die. Don't think I'd dare put a sandwich in something so gorgeous. Best jewels perhaps! TFS & Stay warm. (and forgot to say, you always make the insides so pretty too!) Hugs
Hi Jenny, I've just come from Spanish crafters blog, where she has used John's dies and now I've come to your blog, and John's dies are in use.... I will have to take another look.....there are quite a few that I've taken a fancy too !! Janice xx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com
Looks perfect to me Jenny, absolutely gorgeous box I love the turquoise colour and the flowers are so pretty :)
Hugs Kaz xx
What a beauty Jenny and I love that it's called a sandwich box!! I used to cut the boys sandwiches in triangles for their lunchboxes when they were small. Declan asked one day if he could have boy shaped sandwiches instead of girl shaped...apparently triangles were too feminine for a five year old!! They got boring rectangles after that!! xx
A beautiful card and box combo Jenny. I am ashamed to say I have this die - unopened!!! Hope you are feeling well. Hugs Christine xx
Hi Jenny
This was a colour combo for one of the samples I made for John's shows with the dies. Great minds think alike lol!!!
Its a lovely set and will make a great gift.

Oh WOW Jenny - you have the patience of a saint! Love this - the silver, turquoise and white go together so well. Robin, pearls and flowers - perfect partners! Now wondering if I need that sandwich box die - sits firmly on hands here. First I need to use up tons of NBUS goodies!
Hugs

I have no clue what a sandwich box die is, but I know your box and card are amazing Jenny! Love that design you got with your die and I don't see any dust or such either on the mirri card. It just looks beautiful to me! Well done using those snippets too! Hugs, Brenda
