Hi and welcome to my part of blog land, all my
friends, and visitors.
I know I am a bit late with my Rudolf Day cards,
but there were other challenges that collided with
it on the last 2 days, and I wanted to also join those challenges too.
So as the saying goes better late than never.
The Rudolf Challenge is to make 2 Christmas
cards, and post them between the 25th of the
month and the 30th of the month, or the end of
the month.
I think this is a really good idea as you get
quite a few cards done before your Christmas
rush of cards.
So for anyone interested in joining in you
will find the link HERE .
Now to my 2 cards.
The first card was a just under 6"x6" size.
I used First Edition Gilded Winter 6x6 paper
pad.
I cut the front cover shorter and added some
double sided sticky paper to the part that was
longer and used gilding mica flakes on it.
I then added a border in pearlised embossed
card cut out with the Spellbinders Fleur De
Lis Accents Die.
I also used this die for the design round the
sentiment, and the sentiment was a freebie in
a craft magazine.
The tree die is Sue Wilson Die, and I drew with
a pencil around the die and cut it out in mirri
card, and then used Cosmic Shimmer Iced Snow
in the center.
My 2nd card is just over 5"x5" size.
I stamped all around the edges with border
stamp, and Pine Needles Distress Ink.
The paper is from a 12x12 sheet of Christmas
paper from Hobbycraft.
I stamped a reindeer, and coloured it in with promarkers.
The sentiment was stamped and cut out with
a Spellbinders Die Frame One after covering
my card with sticky double sided paper, I then
peeled back the sticky sheet, and put C/S Iced
Snow all over it.
I then added some C/S Gold Glue Dots to the
edges.
Phew I hope you haven't fallen asleep with all
this description.
Thank you for you visit and comments.
Lots of crafty love. JENNY.
I would like to enter this into the following
challenges.

PURPLE AND WHITE CARD
Hi and welcome to my blog all my friends, and
visitors.
Thank you sooooooo! much for your visit and
the wonderful comments you make about my
work.
Well we had singing practice at my place yesterday afternoon, and we are one person
short now so there is only 4 of us singing, and
the keyboard player.
Started practicing Christmas songs, ready for
our shows at Christmas.
Now today I have a card I made just because
I had this idea, and it's for nobody in particular,
so there is no sentiment on it.
This is a 8"x8" size card.
I used my cosmic shimmer glue dots around
the edge of my purple card, these are not very
good as mine are at least 2years old, and
not working so well, will have to buy more.
I then inked my white card with clear embossing
ink, and dusted it all over with white silvery
mica powder, which doesn't show up too well
in the photo.
The mica powder is at least 8 years old, and it's from Lindy's Stamping Gang.
I then cut out 3 of the Sue Wilson dies called
Fern Trio in the center.
Next I embossed the card with a Teresa Collins
embossing folder.
I added some double sided sticky paper to the
back of my cut out design, and Mica Flaked it
with Indigo Blu Mica Flakes called Eton Mess.
I then put the Fern Trio back over the mica flakes.
I made my organza flower by cutting out some
organza material into circles by hand, pinning
them together with a brad, and using my heat
gun to curl them.
Thank you again for your visit and time.

CHRISTENING CARD
Hi and welcome to my blog all my craft loving
friends, and visitors.
Thank you for your visit and time, as I know
time is very precious to all of us.
Also thank you very much for all your wonderful
comments.
I really do appreciate all of them.
Now I was due to go the big stamp show at
Ally Pally this weekend, but unfortunately my
granddaughter has a few problems with her
early pregnancy, and as my daughter was going
to accompany me, we thought it better to stay
closer to home, just in case.
Today I have a card I was commissioned to
make a while back.
It's a Christening card, but it was for a little
girl of 3 years of age.
This is a 8"x8" size card.
The card and paper are Hunkydory.
I used a double sided purple mirri card, and
used the matt side of it.
I used some snippets from my snippets box
for the corner dies, and coloured them with
Dusty Concorde DI, so I'm off to play in the
snippets playground with this.
Thank you again for your visit.

OLDIE FOR FRIDAY
Hi and welcome to my blog all my craft loving
friends, and visitors.
Thank you for your continued support of my
work, and all the wonderful comments you
always make on my work.
Well I can't believe it's Friday again already.
The weeks are just flying by and soon it will
be the C time of the year.
Now as it's Friday, it's time to join Erika HERE
with your Oldie for Friday.
I was visiting Erika's blog yesterday and she
posted the most beautiful book she had made
for her mother to carry pictures of her
grandchildren in her bag.
So this reminded me of my little baby books
I made, and I thought my newer followers
might like to see them.
I made 8 of these over a period of a year, as my
sisters grandchildren were all expecting over
this period, and they were made for my nieces
and nephews to give them.
So sorry this post is a bit picture heavy.
This is the front cover.
This is the back of the book.
This is the middle of the book.
And lastly the box.
This is a 6"x6" size book card, and box to fit.
The image and the papers are from the Joanna
Sheen Baby Love CD.
I coloured my American Seam Binding Ribbon
Bow with Distress Ink to get the lovely pink
colour.
I used pink chalk round the patterned edge of
the box.
All other items from my stash.
Thank you again for your visit.
Lots of crafty love. JENNY.

BUTTERFLY AND SNIPPETS CHALLENGE CARD
Hi and welcome to my blog all very talented
friends, and visitors.
Thank you for your wonderful comments on my
TCBH post.
I do really need to do some serious tiding of my
craft room, but I would far rather be creating
than tiding, maybe in a few days time. lol.
Now I made this card in just over an hour this
morning, and that's quick for me as I usually
take lot longer than that. lol.
I needed it for this afternoon, as I was singing
with my group of singers, and the lady in
question is leaving the group.
We used to meet at her cottage for our singing
practice, and she always had beautiful birds
feeding from the bird feeder.
We even saw a woodpecker in her apple tree.
So hear is the card I made her.
Card size is just under 6"x6" .
The topper is an Hunkydory one from their
decoupage book.
I added some apple blossom flowers, a lady bird,
dragonfly, and a butterfly cabochon to my bow,
all from my stash.
Now the apple blossom looking flowers were
some snippets left over from another card.
Now before I go I would like to show you my
Begonia in my garden, this year, now I usually
put the tuber away for the winter, but this year
I forgot, and guess what we had a mild winter,
and it survived, and I am so glad it did.
Sorry about my arm in the photo. It was so big
that the flower head was drooping, and DH
couldn't take the shot properly.
Thank you again for your visit and time.

THE CREATIVE BLOG HOP
Hi my name is Jenny Lawrence, and welcome to my part in TCBH.
This was an idea of a person who's name has fallen by the wayside, so I can't tell you who started it, but I think it's a grand way to get to know one another.
This could be a rather long post so if you would like to get yourself a cup of your fav tipple to enjoy as you read this.
I have always crafted in some sort of way, either by knitting, sewing, embroidery, crocheting,
glass painting, making my own motifs to go on
clothes, decorating tops with fabric paints, and
of course baking, my brother in law said I made the best Christmas cake ever, as I used to give
him half of a Christmas cake every year.
I used to make my own clothes when I was younger, but not anymore.
My mother was a fantastic needle person, and so was my grandmother on my father's side of the family.
My mother would make mine, and my sisters
clothes when we were children, and also my
grandmother would machine embroider motifs
on them for us.
Here is a picture of a fancy dress my mother
made me for the coronation in the early fifties.
I am in the
center of the
picture, and I
was a coronation
cake for a fancy
dress ball.
My middle sister
is on the left of
me, and the person in the right
was a stranger who came 2nd in the competition.
I won the competition and this photo was
taken by the local Argus.
My mother printed the Westminster Abbey on
the blouse I had on.
No mean feat in those days, the little coronation
coach on the front is worth a fortune now, and I wish I knew what happened to mine.
I also remember one dress that was gold in
colour, and had fairies embroidered on it.
Not an easy task in the fifties, as there were no
personal embroidery machines at that time.
My grandmother was an invisible mender at a
Dry Cleaners, and taught me how to mend that way.
So craft was always in my back ground.
My 2 sisters also craft , and make jewellery,
and my eldest of the 2 can draw beautifully, as
could my mother, but sadly I didn't inherit that
wonderful talent.
I started paper crafting about 13 years ago, and I started by cutting out old cards and using the
cut out items to make my first attempts at cards.
So then my love of paper crafting really took off.
Now I didn't decide to make cards on my own,
as my disabled niece made cards, and I got the
card making bug from her.
I started my blog just over 2 years ago, after commenting on other peoples blogs.
I have a dear blog friend in Linda Burrows of Creative Harmony blog, who used to show my
cards on her blog.
Sadly Linda hasn't blogged for over a year due
to health problems.
I do hope she gets better soon, and we all see her
around blog land again in the near future.
So with Linda's encouragement I started my
own blog, and I am so happy I did, as I have
made many blog friends all over the world.
((( WARNING PICTURES OF A MESSY
CRAFT ROOM )))
Here is my desk,
and messy crafty
stash all around.
My EBosser is
to the right on
top of a freezer.
My GC on table
in front.
This is some of
my hap hazard
storage.
I seriously need
a tidy up. lol.
I live in a 2
bedroom
bungalow so I
am lucky enough to have my own small craft room.
Now to my questions I have to answer.
1) What am I working on?
ANS.
I am working on 2 different cards at the moment.
Both totally different.
I don't usually do this I usually work on 1 at a time, but the ideas are not gelling quite as I would like them too.
2) How does my work differ from others in my genre?
ANS.
I am not sure if my work differs that much from others in my genre.
Except I like to make the inside of the card look as good as the outside or nearly so.
I also carry this on with the top of boxes I create for special cards.
3) Why do I do what I do ?
ANS.
I do what I do because I love to create something that will make the recipient very happy to receive,
and I love the challenge of trying to improve my craft skills.
4) How does my creative process work ?
ANS.
I get inspiration from everything about me, such as colour matches, and maybe a design, I have seen on a piece of material, or a picture shape that sort of thing.
I never have a clear picture of what I am going to create, it just comes to me as I am crafting.
I love to rearrange my dies to make unusual shapes in my crafting.
Now I would like to introduce you to my tagees.
First we have SARAH WILLS of
http://mallowscrafts.blogspot.co.uk/
Please pay her a visit as she makes beautiful
creations, and not just cards.
Sarah wants me to say she was having a bad hair day when this was
photo was taken.
I am so flattered that Jenny enjoys my creations enough to tag me so that I can join in The Creative Blog Hop.
I craft for fun, and am honoured to be part of four fabulous design teams.
I simply love "grown up" colouring in, and find it a perfect balance to my outdoor life.
Just as important are the wonderful like minded friends I have made along the way!!
Next I have KATH SCHOLEFIELD of.
http://myplainandsimple.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09
Please pay her a visit, as she make some
wonderful cards.
I haven't got a photo of Kath.
My name is Kathleen Scholefield, mainly
called Kath, as Kathleen makes me feel like
I am in trouble, but my Dad didn't like me
being called Kath, if we wanted you to be
Kath we would have christened you Kath, a
good telling off there.
I have been quite shocked to realize that I have
actually been making hand made cards since
2000, more about that later.
I started my blog in March 2010 after I had
retired.
I had no idea how to carry on, but with help
from my sister and lovely friend, and both of
them are no longer blogging now, I managed
to struggle through.
I called my blog PLAIN and SIMPLE, because
that is what I am most comfortable with as, I
am really a bit of a stick in the mud, terrified
of trying new methods.
Like most crafters I have gone through stages
of embroidery, dressmaking, and knitting, but
my first love is music and I was a member of
the Meatloaf fan club, for quite a few years,
and if Bat out of Hell is not played at my
funeral there will be a lot of disappointed
people.
This was an idea of a person who's name has fallen by the wayside, so I can't tell you who started it, but I think it's a grand way to get to know one another.

Like most crafters I have gone through stages
of embroidery, dressmaking, and knitting, but
my first love is music and I was a member of
the Meatloaf fan club, for quite a few years,
and if Bat out of Hell is not played at my
funeral there will be a lot of disappointed
people.

EASEL CARD
Hi and welcome to my blog, all my craft loving
friends, and visitors.
Thank you so much for your visit and your
wonderful comments you make on my work.
Well after my earlier mistake, which if you have
only just visited me you won't know about.
I posted a card for someone thinking their
Anniversary was this weekend.
Well I got it all wrong as usual, and it's not till
the end of this month, now I feel really silly.
So here is Birthday card I did for someone, and
I definitely know it was her Birthday yesterday.
This is a just under 6"x6" in size.
The paper is Dovecraft Back To Basic 111.
Now to get my doily look around my die cut
guess what I used, the Sue Wilson Ditty Bow
Die.
I got this idea from watching one of Sue's
video tutorials on her blog, as she was making
a flower with this die.
So me being me, I had a play with the die and
came up with this design around the Lacy
Circle Die, and doesn't it look pretty.
Thank you again for your visit.
Lots of crafty love. JENNY.

OLDIE FOR FRIDAY
Hi and welcome to my blog all my very talented
friends, and visitors.
I would like to welcome my latest follower, and
thank you for choosing to follow me, and I do
hope to see you here as often as you can
manage it.
Well I can't believe it's Friday all ready, it seems
like at one moment it's Monday, and then the
next it's Friday, what happened to all the days
in between. lol.
I have been busy preparing for my part in TCBH
on Monday.
So maybe that's why the days have flown by.
Thank you for your continued support of my
blog, and the wonderful comments you make.
So now it's time to join Erika HERE for the
Oldie for Friday.
Here is mine for this week, and this was shown
before I started to photograph my insides of my
cards.
This is a 8"x8" size card.
The patterned poppy card and topper is a old
Hunkydory one.
I made the backing pattern behind the topper
out of Spellbinders Parisian motifs or accents,
by interlocking them and gluing them under the
pearls.
I then added a double Parisian border and some
vintage seam binding ribbon, and a bow.
Thank you again for your visit.
Lots of crafty love. JENNY.

OH I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE
Hi and welcome to my blog all my friends, and
visitors.
Thank you so much for your visit, and your fab
comments you make on my work.
I very much appreciate your time spent visiting
me.
Today I have a card I made for my brother in
law's Birthday last week.
Now I think this is a CAS card, and as my regular
friends will know, I don't very often make one of
these type of cards, but I was a bit pushed for
time.
So this was thrown together rather rapidly I'm
afraid.
This is a 8"x8" size card, made from PMD
A3 white card.
The topper is a Hunkydory Topper from thier
decoupage pad.
I used the embossing folder Beautiful Words by
Teresa Collins, and inked it with Tea Dye DI,
before embossing it.
The paper is a free download from Crafters
Companion.
I added some stickles to the sea, and gold
stickles to the lighthouse.
Nimbus items used on this are the topper, and
the embossing folder.
I also used up some Snippets to mount my
topper onto, and to create the banner inside.
So off I go to join both these wonderful
challenges again.
Thank you again fro your visit.
Lots of crafty love. JENNY.
I would like to enter these into the following
challenges.

BUTTERFLY, SNIPPETS, AND NIMBUS CARD.
Hi and welcome to my blog, all my talented
friends, and visitors.
Thank you so much for your visit, and the
wonderful comments you make on my work.
I always appreciate your precious time spent
visiting my blog.
I do hope you all had a great weekend and the
weather was kind to all of you.
Today I have a card I made for my youngest
Son and his wife for their Anniversary.
I needed a card for 3 challenges this week,
hence the title of my post.
I thought I would combine all the different
challenges by incorporating them all in one
card so here it is.
I wanted to revert to an old design inside that
I used quite a few years ago.
This card is a 8"x8" size, made from PMD
white A3 card.
I used my New Sue Wilson embossing folder
called Heart Lattice.
My new Tattered Lace paper gold and teal.
My new Tattered Lace Poppy Die.
The heart die is a Tonic Die and I used the
larger and smaller one the inside, and cut out the
front ones on some snippets card.
I stamped my sentiment onto some snippets
card with Peacock DI, and heat embossed it
with Silver Pearl embossing powder.
Added some feathers, and pearl hearts from my stash.
I do believe I have not used the pearl hearts
before either.
So therefore I have used 4 Nimbus items on
this card.
Of course there are some butterflies, and a sentiment on this so that meets with the
Butterfly challenge as well.
Few I am tired after all that explaining, I do
hope you haven't fallen asleep along the way.
Thank you again for your visit.

corner dies too.
So I'm off to join in the snippets playground

WHITE AND GOLD WEDDING CARD AND BAG
Hi and welcome to my blog all my very talented
followers, and visitors.
Well that's another weekend bit the dust, and it will be soon the C season, and a very busy time
for all of us.
My daughter told me they had C stuff in some of
the shops in the middle of August.
Well they are bringing it forward, every year that
passes, and soon they will have it in the shops at
Easter. lol.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments on
my last card.
I very much appreciate them.
Today I have a commissioned Wedding Card,
and bag to show you.
Now I have not made a bag before only a box,
but I keep seeing Rita's HERE on her blog, and
the other week Mrs Duck made an excellent one
HERE so please visit their blogs if you don't
already do so.
So here is my first effort, needless to say I have
another order for one at the end of October.
The size of the card is an 8"x8" made from
Centura Snow White Pearl A3 card.
The bag is made from 2 A3 PMD white card.
I paper pierced the top layer of my Centura
Pearl card and mounted it on the gold paper,
with foam tape.
My hearts are Tonic Dies, and I intertwined
some pearls strands through the design.
The lovely satin daisies I bought at the NEC
in March, and were a bargain at £1, but sadly
they had no more, otherwise I would have
bought quite a few.
Other bits from my stash.
I used up some snippets of Centura Pearl on
some of the die cuts, so I will be off to join the
playground with this.
Thank you again for your visit and time.
Lots of crafty love. JENNY.
